Ah, the myth of the 1966 Barracuda GT. This was discussed extensively on
MOPAX some years ago. Here's the story: In late 1965 Chrysler decied to
enter the Daytona Sportscar race with the Barracuda in the GT3 category. In
order to do this they had to file homoligation paper work with the FIA,
which governs international sportscar and endurance racing. According to
Scott Harvey, Since they could, the MOPAR folks took a page out of Ferrari's
book and provided paperwork defining an model that was never actually built
(except for the one example that ran at the '66 Daytona race (finished 3rd
in class)). I have a TIF file of the FIA paperwork if anybody wants a copy.
