Spencer Makenzie’s is famous for their fish tacos and the “Taco Tuesday” offerings. But of course, the other menu items are also tasty. There are even special prices for some of the on-tap beverages. 🍺🌮🌮 🍺
We have reservations at 6:30 for 25+ outside on the patio.
The weather forecast for Tuesday is for a great sunny solar day with the temperature being around 78° during our meeting time, you may not need a jacket.
It is important to RSVP to me at kentb...@gmail.com if you are going to attend so we can make sure to have table space for you.
Bring – News of the EV world and our community. Of course, also bring your EV, interested (or interesting) friends and your desire, as meet up as we discuss a variety of topics (including EVs) and to introduce others to the cause.
Several of our gang have recently upgraded their rides, so we may get the opportunity to see what they bring.
Get a Charge while parking for the meeting –
If you need a charge during the meeting, the City of Camarillo has 12 Level 2 Charge Point chargers on SE side of City Hall which is about a four-minute walk (1,056 feet) from Spencer Makenzie’s. ($0.29 per kW).https://www.plugshare.com/location/523336
Upcoming Events for Our Consideration – We have been invited to and can participate in the following events. Who wants to be involved? –
July 4th, Ventura Street Fair. We have been invited to return with our EV Showcase of about 8 vehicles and the Educational Booth. We still have space for a couple of more vehicles and plenty of space for volunteers to help spread the EV word.
Would anyone like to return to the Stem Pavilion at Wings Over Camarillo, August 16-17? In the past we have had a small EV showcase. Volunteers are needed.
We have also been invited to return with our EV showcase and educational booth at The Port of Hueneme Banana Festival on September 27th with 6-8 vehicles. It’s a great community event. Come to educate, show your vehicle, take a tour of the port, and eat all the bananas you want.
Our big annual event occurs during National Drive Electric Month. The Ventura EV Showcase will take place on October 5th in the Ventura Harbor. Last year we had a fantastic gathering of over 64 EV’s.
Sign Up to participate @ Ventura Harbor EV Showcase
We can also participate in other events as we find them.
Other items which may be of interest to the group.
Some things you can also do is to listen to the recent podcasts of The Energy Show by Barry Cinnamon, monitor and support the activities at The Solar Rights Alliance and follow the Boiling Point from Sammy Roth.

Quinn Caterpillar on Del Norte, in Oxnard has 8 ChargePoint level 2 chargers.
The existing Electrify America Station at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura underwent an equipment upgrade and is back in operation,,, 6 each 350kW units.
Also at the Pacific View Mall, out in front of the Red Robin, 3283 E Main St.
The Rivian Adventure Network station is online with 8 DCFC, 300kW (Shared).
$0.59 kWh for Rivian’s, $0.69 kWh Other Vehicles.
Does anyone have tips on other new stations?
Camarillo - Construction is underway on the mid-town Tesla Supercharger. Just east of Carmen Drive in the Camarillo Plaza, 1775 E. Daily Drive. Installing 24 each 325kW chargers, to be open 24/7. It needs a site visit, perhaps tonight.
Santa Paula – The recently reported ChargePoint installation is in the parking lot behind the Glen Tavern Inn, 134 N. Mill St. There are two dual head Level 2 ChargePoint units. 9.6kW, $.45 to $.70 per kWh, TOU rates. Came online on May 29th. 24/7 access. Enter the parking lot from Santa Barbara Street.
Under construction at the Fermentation House / Anna’s Cider, 111 N 8th St and Main. Two ChargePoint DCFC 62.5kW units, CHAdeMO / CCS ports. Thay are also installing a level 2 dual head 6.9 kW ChargePoint. There was no construction activity when I visited, will need some checking on status.
Oxnard - EVgo 350 kW Station at Freemont Square, 820 North Ventura Road (N of Doris Ave). Four dual 350kW Delta Model EIDD-U350SSUUAEG units
It looks like everything is ready, but not yet commissioned, could be a utility thing.
Ventura - The Electrify America Station at the Ventura County Credit Union on Telephone near Victoria is almost becoming a legend for its long wait time for commissioning. Perhaps we should schedule a picnic meeting this summer, just because… There was recent work with some equipment in place this week, but on Saturday the equipment was gone.
Ventura Harbor Village EV Charging, the two new locations are now awaiting activation with 21 level two EVGateway units.
See you Tuesday Evening…
Also it is interesting how on a peaceful Saturday at the County Government Center, Cathy and I were able to run across several of our EV friends…
