Over 4,000 participants gathered in the Ventura’s Plaza Park to celebrate Earth Day on the 19th. The event included our Electric Vehicle Showcase which included 32 vehicles ranging from a 1916 Rauch & Lange to a 2025 Cadillac Optiq, and included Electric Vespas, a Meaving motorcycle, and assorted sedans, SUVs and pickups.
Local dealerships Vinfast and Oxnard Team Nissan brought display vehicles.
The 55th Santa Barbara Earth Day festival on April 26th and 27th included community educational booths, craft and vendor sales which were visited by over 25,500 community members and visitors. Santa Barbara Street was again turned into a green car show, with Auto Dealers, a Ride & Drive, municipal vehicles, electric equipment, bicycles and the ever-popular owner’s corner. Our EV showcase had 8 different vehicles each day along with their drivers. Our education booths provided information on vehicle options, purchase incentives, and charging options.
The Ventura Charter School held its annual EcoFest on Sunday April 27th.
As part of the event, the EV Advocates of Ventura County provided a small EV Showcase to provide participants with the opportunity to view vehicles and talk shop with experienced EV drivers. One of the sponsors of the event was Kirby Subaru who brought a Solterra for display.

EV Charging Access updates -
Agoura Supercharger (I know it’s not in Ventura County) on the south side of the 101 & Kanan, just east of Wood Ranch is now open for business. 28863 Agoura Road. 31 each, 325kW max units open 24/7
The Supercharger on the east side of Simi Valley is also open for business. 2751 Tapo Canyon Road. 24 each, 325kW max units open 24/7.
Quinn Caterpillar on Del Norte, in Oxnard has 8 ChargePoint level 2 chargers.
Does anyone have tips on other new stations?
There are a couple of charging stations in the County which have been under construction for several months with finalization relying on SCE.
Camarillo - Construction is underway on the mid-town Tesla Supercharger. Just east of Carmen Drive in the Camarillo Plaza, 1775 E. Daily Drive. Installing 24 each 325kW chargers, to be open 24/7. It needs a site visit, perhaps tonight.
Santa Paula - Just reported a ChargePoint installation near Main and 8th. Four level 2 Ports. More information is needed.
Oxnard - EVgo 350 kW Station at Freemont Square, 820 North Ventura Road (N of Doris Ave). Four dual 350kW Delta Model EIDD-U350SSUUAEG units
It looks like everything is ready, but not yet commissioned, could be a utility thing.
Ventura - The Electrify America Station at the Ventura County Credit Union on Telephone near Victoria is almost becoming a legend for its long wait time for commissioning. Perhaps we should schedule a picnic meeting this summer, just because… There was recent work in May to install electrical service.
The existing Electrify America Station at the Pacific View Mall underwent an equipment upgrade and is back in operation,,,
And at the Pacific View Mall, out in front of Red Robin, 3283 E Main St. Rivian Adventure Network is in the process of installing a station with 8 DCFC, unknown capacity. it should be operational mid week.
Ventura Harbor Village EV Charging, the two new locations are now awaiting activation with 21 level two EVGateway units.
See you Tuesday Evening…
