Bring – News of the EV world and our community. Of course, also bring any interested (or interesting) friends and your desire to meet up as we discuss a variety of topics (including EVs) and introduce others to the cause.

Get a Charge while parking for the meeting – If you need a charge, the City of Camarillo has 12 Level 2 Charge Point chargers on the SE side of City Hall, which is about a four-minute walk (1,056 feet) from Spencer Makenzie’s.

Coming Events - Register to Participate and Mark on Your Calendar
On Saturday, September 26th, we will again bring our EV Showcase, the educational booth, and display about a dozen of our representative EVs. This is a great community event that gives us the chance to eat a lot of bananas. You can also break free for port tours, music, and other fun. 10 am to 5 pm, The Port of Hueneme, 105 East Port Hueneme Road, Port Hueneme 93041.

On Sunday, October 4th, we will have our big annual EV Showcase and gathering on the main lawn at Ventura Harbor Village. Register to participate @ - https://driveelectricmonth.org/5254 Last year, we had 65 vehicles on the lawn, and we need lots more of you to register and participate to make this another great event.
There is also a need for several of you to register as volunteers. You will be put to work preparing the venue, escorting the vehicles into position, helping during the day at our booth, and wrapping up at the end of the event. It’s a takes-a-village kind of event.
If you know of local businesses that use electric vehicles, recruit them to showcase both their business and their EVs.

EV Charging Access updates -
Camarillo –
The new Costco fueling station has opened for gasoline sales, and the EV Charging component is being constructed. (But not very quickly). The plans show 6 Electrify America 360-kWh units, which may carry Costco branding. Last looked at on 7/17/26.
The two ChargePoint units at the Ventura Office of Education on Adolfo Road are being replaced with dual-port 11.5kW units from EVGateway. Soon to be activated

Oxnard –
Plugshare showed a “Coming Soon” station at Vallarta Supermarket and at the Hilton. Hopefully, these are not just pie-in-the-sky listings.
The good news is that Scott scouted out a new installation at the Centerpoint Mall in South Oxnard. Currently, construction is underway to install four 350kW dual-port chargers from EVgo. The station will be able to charge up to 8 vehicles at once. Look for it to come online in 2-3 months, as SCE still needs to make the service connection.
Ventura –
Coming Soon. The walk-through is done, the Ventura City Council has approved, the project package has been submitted to SCE for transformers, and this install could possibly happen this year…

Discount Tire / Positive Energy DCFC is slated to be installed at Discount Tire 4547 Telephone, next to the APCD offices. More details as they come.
Ventura College is currently installing a large number of Level 2 chargers. In the East Lot under the solar panels there will be 48 level 2 chargers. In the North parking lot, also under the solar panels, there will be an unknown number of chargers, but it appears to be over 50. This will boost the number of available public chargers in the area.
Santa Paula –
New Station @ Limoneria Ranch, 1141 Cummings Rd. Santa Paula, 93060. 4 each Level 2, J-1772, NW side of the Calavo HQ building. Online May 12th.

If you have solar or desire to get it in the future, you should join the Solar Rights Alliance. This organization is actively working to preserve and expand our rights to utilize solar energy to reduce our carbon footprint.
