Upcoming Outing this Saturday to the Nethercutt Auto Museum in Sylmar.

Please join other members of our group on our trip to The Nethercutt Collection Auto Museum  this Saturday, January 25th. The museum is in Sylmar. This brief description from its website does not do justice to its stunning collection that includes an original GM EV-1. "Experience the heart of our collection--over 250 American and European perfectly restored automobiles, along with a vast array of rare mechanical musical instruments and precious antique furniture."

We plan to first meet for breakfast/lunch at 11 a.m. at Big Jim's Family Restaurant and Bar in Sun Valley which is along our route and close to the museum. We have reserved a private room inside this family restaurant for our group meal. We will do a group photo there as we have great conversation, food and drink.

Afterwards we will go to the museum arriving12:30 to 12:45 +/- depending how long brunch lasts.

This Outing and Event is being wrangled by James Reach, Please RSVP to him if you plan on participating. mailto:rea...@yandex.com

Other items which may be of interest to the group.

With the management changes in Washington, we all should be concerned about support, or lack of or even worse, opposition to continued EV adoption. We will discuss measures you can take to support our noble cause.

Some things you can do are to listen to The Energy Show by Barry Cinnamon, monitor and support the activities at  The Solar Rights Alliance and follow the Boiling Point from Sammy Roth.

We need to begin planning for our upcoming outreach for Drive Electric Earth Month  (the whole of April). If you know of great event venues where we can participate please let us know.

Also, what we have been celebrating as National Drive Electric Week in October is now being reprogramed as Drive Electric Month taking place from September 12th to October 12th. This is good as we can now participate in other events as we as continue organizing our event in the Ventura Harbor. We need to look at good dates to target.

  EV Charging Access updates -

There are a couple of charging stations in Ventura which have been under construction for several months with finalization relying on SCE time, which I just learned is akin to “Fiji time”.

The concern is now with human, equipment and supply resources being diverted for fire recovery additional delays might be in the works as everyonr compete for scarce resources

On a positive note, related to fire recovery, to provide for an increase in charging requirements Tesla brought temporary units to supplement the chargers at the Oaks Mall.

Does anyone have tips on other new stations?

See you Tuesday Evening…
