I live within the traditional homeland of the Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya.  Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya …Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations at either Grand Ronde or Siletz. Today, the Kalapuya live on tribal lands or tribal-ceded lands throughout the region. Many Kalapuya are active members of the sovereign nations of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde or the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Kalapuya culture is alive. To learn more, please check out the online Champinefu Webinar Series, plan a trip to the Chachalu Museum and Cultural Center, and/or make a gift to our Champinefu Fund.

In case you have a minute to glance at them, here are my notes from our last EVAT meeting…

Meeting Notes for May 22, 2026

Present: Jeanette Hardison, Mica Habarad, Ruby Moon, Annette Mills

  1. SOLD! Shop Online Local Directory
    1. Logo – Annette is meeting with Katy Krupp of Element Graphics to ask her to design a logo. Input: The tag line should be included. Once we have a logo, we should incorporate it in everything related to the directory.
    2. Use of SOLD! logo
      • For SOLD! businesses – Poster to display on their doors and windows. “You can shop us online at SOLD!” with QR code and website link (bitly).
      • For customers – A few ideas; “Are you an online shopper? Like to shop online? Hey, don’t shop from the big guys! Find your LOCAL shops online HERE! Shop us online to support our local economy.” Jeanette will work on verbiage.
    3. We need to add The Golden Crane to the SOLD! web page. Annette will ask Kathy Kale.

  1. Next meeting – Friday, July 24, 2026, at 12:00 pm
