The River City Food Co-op is excited to offer the first cooking class
of the year.
Getting Healthy with Omega 3's
Hidden deficiencies in essential Omega 3 oils are thought to affect
the well being of both vegetarians and omnivores with potentially
serious health consequences for some.
Two presentations and tastings will be offered by Richard Ogilvy, at
the Patchwork kitchen, demonstrating how to incorporate these Omega 3
oils into our daily menus.
Tastings are planned to include:
* Tasty homemade Omega 3 salad dressings
* Raw fruit and sprout smoothies with Omega 3s
* Sautéed greens and walnuts
* Quinoa salad with Omega 3s
* Lightly poached salmon with herbs
* Soup with Omega 3s
* Handouts related to selection, storage and effective use of Omega 3
oils
Both presentations are limited to 8 adults each. Registration is
required at a cost of $8.00 to cover food costs. To register, please
