Hello
It seems already three of my students enrolled! One from Russia, one from South Korea and one from Finland. A truly international class you will have.

Hello
Sorry. Don’t do the same mistake I just made. I intended to comment to Cesare only, but sent the message to entire list. (I better go to sleep now ;-)

Dear Doru and all
I started a new discussion: Things to improve. (See title of this message) Please reply to this message only if you write about things to improve. If your comment is about the courses this spring see that your Subject line is: Re: EVA Courses spring 2012. Then the message will go to right chain of discussion.
Yes, Doru, on the Image Interpretation course my student Camille Romano (France) enrolled, please accept. Also Erika Kim (South Korea) and Aino Yrjänä (Finland) are my students. (I have 70 students who come from 23 countries.)
But it is not a good idea that we tell each other who of the students is who. Why not add one more field in the student registration form, university.
We actually need some more database development:
- The professors need to be able to add to student information have they completed a course. Or are we going to collect statistics manually? I’m sure nobody has time for such.
- The students also need to be able to edit their data. If a student accidentally makes a typo writing his/her email, (s)he is not able to correct it but has to register again. Thus we get students who does not exist in the registry
- Also, if we wish to follow EU standards with the information we give students in advance we need an enhanced form for teachers to register courses. More about this in the Teachers’ room on Thursday.
And how can we have quality assurance if we don’t have any agreement and arrangement how to collect feedback? I have collected feedback from my students per email, and I’m going to present a summary in the teachers’ room on Thursday. But in the long run, it makes no sense to do it this way; we need a database where both students and teachers can use a form to give feedback. (BTW, can I add you to teachers room?)
We also need some recommendations how to involve students in the development work of EVA. I have now a group of six students willing to do this. How about other universities? We have promised EU we will involve students in every step we take, so its about time.
I wish you all list things to improve and start before Tampere meeting – which is after two weeks!

Ps My students registered for the moment for EVA courses:
Vasilescu Magdalena (Romania)
Põldots Kristina (Estonia)
Mäenpää Heidi (Finland) (Registered twice because of typo. heiidi....@cult.tamk.fi should be deleted, heidi....@cult.tamk.fi is correct.
Romano Camille (France)
Turppa Markus (Fin)
Annala Sallamari (Fin) (Student from TAMK International Business programme. Interesting, how did she learn about this, I’ve been doing better dissemination than I knew ;-)
Symon Douglas (UK)
Kwiatkowska Emilia (Poland) (She’s typed false email, has to register as a new person, because she can’t correct)
Yrjänä Aino (Fin)
Ostasheva Alexandra (Russia)
Tolou Vasia (Greece)
Sairiala Joonas (Fin)
Kim Erika (South Korea)
Eloranta Minna (Fin)
Two very stupid things with this list:
a) I really don’t have time to do this manually, our database should give this info. And now I had to look trough all 130 EVA-students, because I could not sort the list.
b) This is now filed under the discussion (message subject) EVA: Things to improve. Who of you can find this list later, if you wish to find? Nobody. Please, partners responsible for database and quality, give us the right forms to collect data. /Cai
2. The course of Andrea Virginás, PhD: CONTEMPORARY MAINSTREAM CINEMA
today I will inform our students regarding the possibilities of on-line courses given by EVA.
Best regards,
Dezső
Dear all
Our students are on winter leave next week, when EVA spring semester starts. Please try to print the course infos on the website as soon as possible, so I can tell the students about the new courses. Some have already registered for the three courses that are online:
· Special Effects (5 TAMK students, 9 all together)
· Social Media in Communication and Community building (4 TAMK students, no other, please promote)
· Image Interpretation (3 TAMK students, 4 in all)
So the additional courses would be:
· Reflexity in Film
· Contemporary Mainstream Cinema
· Femininity and Visual Culture
Mittweida, anything?
When communicating EVA to your students, please tell them about the EVA Facebook page. It is a good place for questions, answers and comments about our project: https://www.facebook.com/evacademy (Professors and staff also welcome!)
