I dug a bit deeper and the current road conditions (for those travelling
to Cracow by car) can be found here: http://mapa.targeo.pl/?powodz It’s
in Polish, but should be quite usable (‘Powódź’ is Polish for ‘Flood’).

A4 itself seems unaffected at the moment, but you’ll be travelling
to the Pawia 3 address, and there’s a possible closing on the S7/E77
expressway in Zabierzów – check whether it’s still there on Friday.

Trains should be running normally, however normally they can be
unreliable. I would still recommend travelling by car. A4 from Wroclaw
is a nice and fast way of getting to Kraków.

AFAIK the information can be found at

The current news says that the connections
to/from Wrocław are partially cancelled:

hmmmm ... i wanted to be clever and avoid air travel (because
of the volcano) -- but i do not feel so clever now :(

maybe i should try to refund my train ticket and go by
bus instead?

I'd say it might be a good idea (and trains are not much faster in
Poland
so that might be a good idea overall..)

Also, try tweeting - maybe you can travel with another EuRuKo
attendee coming from Western Poland.

Good luck Tim!

Today's night train from .nl via Berlin to Warszawa should be running.
I'll be on tomorrow's.
From Warszawa to Krakow should not be much of a problem (tracks do not
follow the Wisla), though my hotel in Krakow warned about delays.

Bye,
Kero.
