Maybe the air breathers are blocked, seems the same as if the tape has not come off theair holes  cleanly.  Try blowing into the top of the ink cartridge with it over the sink or newspaper and ink should flow freely.  Roger

Printing problem after replacing cartridge

However, now it only prints in black intermittently. I can't find anything on the cannon website to assist with this issue. Any suggestions please? Thanks

I have some 520 and 521 generic for this printer surplus to requirements as no longer have this printer.  Free can bring next Wednesday.

Refiling only does not work as the chip has to be replaced as well.

Depends on what was done.  Roger
