Sixty-three years after the Robert Schuman Declaration stating “the first concrete foundation of a European federation”, the notion of federalism is currently discussed, among other crucial debates challenging the European Union in its core concept. Is the celebration of the Europe Day tomorrow leading you to think about deepening your knowledge and know-how in EU affairs? If you reply ‘yes’, then join our summer training programmes.
The College of Europe will be welcoming in Bruges professionals from all over the world during the month of July to learn about the European Union in a challenging and inspiring environment. While its flagship training course – the Intensive Seminar on the EU with its 3 formulas of one, two or three weeks – will be celebrating its 20th anniversary, the College of Europe will be also organising an advanced professional training on EU Competition Law.

20th Edition of the College of Europe Summer School
The ‘Compact’ one-week formula (8-12 July), in addition to updates on the latest EU developments, will offer this year the opportunity to intensively practice negotiation, reporting, lobbying and communication skills for participants to improve their competences in the EU arena.
Professionals taking part in the ‘Advanced’ two-week (8-19 July) and ‘Classic’ three-week (1-19 July) courses will have the chance to tailor their training to their professional needs and personal interests via our unique system of parallel training sessions. The European Year of Citizens will be celebrated during the simulation of real-life Council of the EU negotiations and evening panel discussions on hot EU topics will round-off the “intensive” programme.

Advanced Training on EU Competition Law
On 8-12 July, the College’s EU Competition Law training programme will gather competition professionals from EU and non EU countries, working in state institutions or law firms, to enhance their legal and economic analysis of competition matters, as well as to deepen their understanding of competition policy reforms in the EU on a global scale.
Designed at an advanced level, this training programme offers a professional guide to EU competition law, the essential tools to master legal complexities, as well as an enriching forum for discussion to help participants overcome challenges they may face in their daily work.
