Dear friends:
After reading through the prospectus on the Liverpool migration and
mutation conference and it sounds like it might be good idea to
organize a panel with 3-4 papers around the topic of Mormon Migration
and Mutation. English migration is a natural, but I don't think we
should rule out migration from other European nations.

--My paper proposal is to focus on the English newspaper coverage of
Mormons particularly during the 1830s and 1840s when such a large
number of Latter-day Saints joined the church in the Herefordshire and
Gloucestershire areas and emigrated to the U.S., many coming to
Nauvoo. (My wife's family descended from among these Saints.) I am
most interested in looking at newly digitized archives of smaller
papers and other documents from this region.

Are there others out there who have proposals would could submit
together as a panel topic? Only an abstract for each paper is due by
June 15.

Best,
Joel
