Hi, I just bought the Behringer FCB1010, and I'm wanting to update it,
and have some questions about the eureka prom,,

1: Does it carry all the functions of the original chip ?

2: How must I interpret the update,, =The ability to send program changes to all 16 MIDI channels in Presets Mode=
can the FCB1010 transmit to 16 channels at ones instead of 5 ?
And does it have this feature in EP mode ?

3: Can you move in EP mode through the banks with the up/down pedals to reach other presets ?

4: Can PP and EP be combined ?

Thanks for reading this :)

Let me try to answer your questions:

1: Does it carry all the functions of the original chip ?

The answer is 'yes', in that it can also send program changes, CC# values, etc.  However, if the question is "Is the EurekaPROM a superset of the Behringer chip" then the answer is no.  It's not programmed in the way the Behringer chip is, it doesn't have the same modes, etc.

That said, the EurekaPROM has many features that the original PROM (or UnO) doesn't contain.  Like customization for specific effect boxes, effect state feedback for specific configurations, etc.

2: How must I interpret the update, "The ability to send program changes to all 16 MIDI channels in Presets Mode"?

In the PP Programmable Configuration the user has the option to send Program Change commands to any of the 16 MIDI channels, changing the channel with pedals 1 & 6.

Can the FCB1010 transmit to 16 channels at once instead of 5?

It sends to one channel at a time.

And does it have this feature in EP mode ?

Yes, the channel is saved into the FP mode memory with MIDI channel information.

3: Can you move in EP mode through the banks with the up/down pedals to reach other presets ?

If the effects unit you are controlling has bank up/down control via CC# modification, then yes.  Otherwise, no.

4: Can PP and EP be combined ?

PP is the programmable configuration.  EP mode is in every configuration, including PP.

Thanks for reading this :)

You're welcome!  :-)
