I got Eureka running on a Ubuntu VM, but I am now forced to get it
working on Red Hat.

I'm still working to resolve this issue on my own, but I thought I'd
share with the class.

When compiling source:

mvn clean install -Dopenaccess-security -Dbuild.db.dbname=psqldbname -
Dbuild.db.dbuser=psqldbuser -Dbuild.web.baseurl=http://localhost:8080 -
Dbuild.web.grbaseurl=http://localhost:8081

getting POM warnings:

Ed,

I had this problem as well. You need to set the proxy in your
MAVEN_OPTS if you're trying to compile from behind a company proxy.

Thanks for the quick reply Steve.
Rob already hooked me up with the proxy info for settings.xml in maven
a while ago. I assume this is something different? Where is
MAVEN_OPTS? I can't find it.

Set an environment variable. I'll send you the specifics.

That did something, but now I'm getting another error.

Ed -

Try opening one of the offending POM or JAR files with a text editor.
You may find that it's an HTML file saying that the resource has been
moved. (Or perhaps some other error if it was a proxy problem.) I
had a bunch of like that from a day when one of the external repos was
acting strange. Since then whichever repo that was has gone back to
realizing it has the files to serve, so I was able to just delete the
bad files and build again.
