Hi there brettanomyces enthusiasts. I wanted to send out a quick message to all 36 of The Great BBA/EBY Brett Experiment participants to see what each brewer did with the strains received, if you were able to gather any fermentation or sensory analysis notes, and if you would be willing to simply share a little bit about your experience one way or another.

Sam put a lot of hard work, time and money into getting us the samples, so even if you didn't end up using the yeast samples or taking notes, it would be a nice gesture if we could all answer a few feedback questions regarding the experiment. Would you take a minute to do that right now?

Cheers,

Luke

I figured this might be relevant to the whole group.

I'm trying to plan a tasting of all 20 strains (now aging close to 20 months) during NHC in San Diego. My tentative timing is on Friday, May 12th around 5 pm at the Town and Country Resort. Please let me know if you will be at NHC and if you are interested.

I still have 1 more additional set that I've been saving for when Sam visits the states.

Thanks,
Jeff Crane

Wish I could make it but unfortunately I won't be in SD until the 15th

Great, I'll do my best to make it if I can, and if I do, I'll bring the 10 that I did for side-by-side comparison.

Hey all,

This is Dave (Hors Catégorie Brewing). This all sounds really exciting but I'm not totally sure how I made it into this group as I wasn't involved in this brett experiment. But I would certainly be interested in something like this if it happened again in the future. And I'll be at NHC so I'd be happy to meet up and try some of these beers if there's room for one more!

Thanks

Dave

Hi all,

Same for me - did not participate in brett experiment (found out about it too late), but i signed up to this group to find out the results and try to join if there's another one.
Quick introduction of myself: Artur, homebrewer from Poland and PSPD (polish homebrewers association) beer judge.

It would be great if you could write down your thoughts after tasting.
Cheers,
Artur

Great to hear from all you guys.

This tasting is definitely open to anyone interested. You are on this email thread because you subscribed to Sam's google group about the experiment. It sounds like I'm getting some good traction on the tasting. I have 1 spot left and maybe 2 additional spots.

I will definitely be compiling tasting notes and will make them available "shortly" after the event.

Ahh, thanks Jeff. That sounds like something I would have done. Excellent, well I look forward to this tasting at NHC!

Thanks

Dave

I'm in the same boat as far as not being actively involved in the experiment (i missed the boat as well) but id love to participate in the tasting at NHC.

My own introduction: Los Angeles area home brewer and blogger at labeerfan.com. President of Pacific Gravity Homebrewers Club. Certified BJCP beer judge. Very happy to be on this thread! Cheers.
