Hi, all,

Does anyone know of a local business where I might purchase a 6GB
internal SATA cable?

They are all the same. Don't get sucked into hype that they aren't. If you want/need any I have a million. Different legnths, colors, angles @ ComputerBase.

It seems to me that the 6GB/s designation is specific

to the bus itself and not the cable.

Might want to check with Oregon Electronics:

Good to know. I'll aim to stop by in the morning. I've been wanting to
meet you for years.

Related: I haven't found a rescue CD yet that recognizes my USB 3.0
external drive enclosure with a 3.5" SATA inserted. I'm needing to
clone a failing drive's content to another drive for the Windows 7
machine. The enclosure is recognized from my Linux box, so it seems
that it's good.

Any rescue CD or software suggestion?

Best regards,

Paul

Clonezilla and SystemRescueCD should both work.

Thanks, Mr. O. I'll give them a try.
