Thanks to all of you, Bailonga has developed a reputation as an incredibly special community. Our ability to be warm and welcoming while at the same time casual and playful is so powerful that even the amazing Fernando & Olivia openly share that our little group of dancers in Eugene, Oregon is their favorite tango community.
Next week, at our “Jump Into Tango” event, we are harnessing our super-power to invest in the future of our tango community. Because everyone’s tango journey has to start somewhere.
On April 15th, we are asking YOU, our established and experienced community members, to invest in the future of our tango community and spend an evening prioritizing and seeking out beginner dancers to ensure everyone has a chance on the dance floor. Safety and consent is, as always, very important. But every one of us was a beginner once upon a time and progressed in a large part thanks to the many generous individuals who helped guide us along our tango journey. We want these new dancers to leave at the end of the night having had a wonderful time and motivated to return the following week.
We have been doing a ton of extra marketing for this event to ensure we have lots of beginners and it looks like we're going to have a really amazing turn out!
The beginner lesson with Noah Brenner will be a full hour, but please attend even if you're an experienced tango dancer! Dancing starts at 8PM, and for the remainder of the evening, there will be a handful of instructors available for questions and one-on-one practice off the main dance floor.
To make this event as accessible as possible, it will only cost you $5, AND every single attendant of our “Jump Into Tango” event will receive a free pass to a future Bailonga event of their choice. We will also be providing resources for next steps for beginners to continue their tango journey.
Please come support the future of our community and invite friends who might be interested in starting tango!
***If you'd like to work a desk shift to get in for free to this event, please reply to this email. Working the desk is going to include a few extra responsibilities this week so I'll be scheduling the shifts ahead of time.
