Turbocharging Your Backups to Ludicrous Speed

Surprisingly not a lot of DBAs take the time to learn how to tune their backups and restores. This inevitably leads to issues down the line when we try to fit other things into tiny maintenance windows. Additionally it means it will take longer to recover from a disaster. This becomes especially problematic when your databases are terabytes in size. In this session we will go over what options we have to available to us to help get the best performance out of our backups. We will also look at potential pitfalls to avoid. We will also go over how to properly research and test to find the best value for the various settings available. At the end of this session you will have enough knowledge and a process that will allow you to turbocharge your backups/restores and free up some time in your maintenance windows.
