At top high school in fast growing city in China

Preferably with experience in ACT, AP, SAT

This High School was first established in the early 1900s by a group of American University graduates. The school continues the relationship with the founding university to this day.

It is a first-tier key public school in one of China’s top 5 cities. Admission is competitive, based mainly on the score in province-wide examinations as well as talent in science, music, sports, and the arts.

General Qualifications:

Ideal candidates must have a passion for teaching, embracing diversity, and have a strong desire to learn and participate in other cultures. They should be excellent communicators, mentors of students and leaders in practices that help foster creativity, personal responsibility, and academic excellence for students. They should have a warm, approachable presence which invites and respects the views of others, while also demonstrating firmness when necessary.

·        Bachelor's degree from a recognised university (minimum)

·        Certification or qualification in your subject

·        Minimum of 5 years’ full-time classroom experience, preferably at high school level

·        Minimum of 1 years’ experience in ACT, AP or SAT

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes including putting up displays in the classroom

·        marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of pupils' progress and development

·        researching new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge and then devising and writing new curriculum materials

·        selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment

·        undertaking pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of form tutor, and supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic difficulties

·        preparing pupils for qualifications and external examinations

·        managing pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour

·        participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events; being active, engaged, and visibly present in classrooms and in the daily life of the School

·        liaising with other professionals, such as learning mentors, careers advisers, educational psychologists and education welfare officers

·        building and sustain a strong sense of community within the School

Remuneration Package

1、Monthly Salary:USD$3000 to $5000 depending on qualifications and experience

2、RMB 8000 (approximately USD 1,300) as subsidy of air ticket

3、Comfortable accommodation is provided.

4、Costs for required documents (usually be the Work Permit, Residence Card and Expert Card) will sponsored by the school.

5、Provision of Foreign Experts’ accident and health insurance

6.   And other benefits which will be described during the job interview

Reviews of applications will begin in the 3rdweek of April, 2013, and will continue until the position is filled.  The selected candidates are expected to start work by 24 June 2013. Contracts are for a minimum of one year and will be renewed depending on the work performance of the teacher.
