2018 Eugene Asian Celebration

Hello everyone,

This is a little last minute but the Eugene Go Club will have a booth at the Asian Celebration that's happening this weekend at the Eugene events center. There was an issue with communication that made it so I didn't know we had our booth approved until today. Currently there is one other local player and I that will be able to volunteer for the booth. My original plan was to borrow some of the tournament Go sets from the Corvallis Go Club, but with such short notice I'm trying to see if we have enough sets in house to not have to borrow any. If you have a decent set are willing to let the club borrow or if you are interested in volunteering to help teach at the Go booth, let me know. Even if you aren't able to volunteer, feel free to drop by the booth.

Hey Robert, and everyone! 

I came into possession of 2 full sets (maybe even 3) more than a year ago, that are sitting in my storage unit. My intention was to donate them to the Go Club anyhow, then I moved, various other life distractions happened, etc. and I totally forgot until now. I’m in Portland this weekend, but happy to get them to you early next week.

I see now that the celebration is this weekend. I can make time tomorrow morning to get them to you guys. I’ll stop by storage tonight on my way home from work.

Don't worry, it's not just you.  :)

The Asian Celebration runs from 10-7 on Saturday, and 10-6 on Sunday.  For more general information, you can check the website: http://asiancelebration.org/

I'll be there both days, but I'm hoping more members can also help out; I really don't want to be there all day on both days (and I had a family event planned for Sunday afternoon; I hadn't really considered a potential conflict with this when the planning was occurring).

It's been a few years since the last time the Go club hosted a booth at the AC (and in which I was involved), so I don't remember all the details, but I'm pretty sure we'd want to show up a little earlier.

As Ron mentioned, It's 10-7 Saturday and 10-6 Sunday. We have a booth all day both days in the arts and crafts section of the event. Set up starts today (Friday) after 1:30, but we don't really have much to set up so it shouldn't take that long. I'll be there both days but it would be nice to have someone there also so we can do things like go on lunch breaks while having someone still at the booth.

Alright, because Jason is so amazing the Eugene Go club now has 3 official sets. With that and my set we're up to 4 sets. I'll see today how much booth space we'll be getting. If we have room for 6 sets, we can add Ron and Brad's sets. Thank you all for your support. If you want to help teach, let me know when you're available.
