TOUR OF VIVA!

(AKA Hummingbird Wholesale)

Nir Pearlson Architect, Inc.

The original 1940s 24,000 s.f. warehouse was converted into a 2-story 36,000 s.f. mixed-use building incorporating:  food production & distribution, an incubator kitchen, light manufacturing, offices, healing arts practitioners, a sandwich shop, and a public community room. Expressing the owners’ deep commitment to sustainability, the building features: a highly insulated envelope; high-efficiency ground & air-source split HVAC systems; maximized daylighting via skylights, solar tubes, windows & clerestories; grid-tied PV and hot water solar arrays; in-house utility & energy monitoring; minimized interior finish cladding; accessible utility lines; straw-bale demonstration wall; reclaimed & friendly finish materials; and rain gardens.

Nir Pearlson Architect, Inc. has been providing a full range of architectural services on commercial & residential projects since 2003.  Working with local community-based owner-developers, the firm has designed an array of building types, including: fabrication facilities, offices, restaurants & kitchens, a grocery store, a brewery, an Earth Advantage 800 s.f. home, and the Viva! building.
