I'd like to mention this group on my newsgroups page -
http://www.midnightbeach.com/hs/Talk.news.f.html - but I don't know what
the eug.* 'domain' is supposed to be all about, and rtfm.mit.edu doesn't
have charters for the eug.* groups.

Hi Jon,
Are you the Jon of Jon's Homeschool Page? If so, I often refer
people to you as a good place to find other h-s listservs and newsgroups.
I'm the list manager for the newsgroup "eug.education.homeschooling"
and the mailing list "homes...@efn.org". They are gated to each other, so
that whatever is posted to the newsgroup is posted also to the mailing list,
and vice versa. Except that recently I started moderating the mailing list
to weed out the multitude of spams that are posted to the newsgroup.
"eug" stands for Eugene, Oregon and "efn" is Eugene (Community) Free
Net. So we focus on issues, resources, and events that concern Lane County,
Oregon, although we have many "lurkers" from all over the world who just
want to know something about homeschooling. And some of them get upset
because we seem to focus too much on Oregon!
To subscribe to the mailing list, send an e-mail to:

majo...@efn.org

In the body of the message put:

subscribe homeschool

You should receive a "Welcome to Homeschool" message back from the
machine.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have more questions. It's
fine to list either or both on your web page.
BTW, we have about 130 subscribed to the mailing list, but it's a
pretty quiet list--usually 10-20 posts a week.
