A symphony of words about sincere love, true purity and purposeful
singleness. JOSHUA HARRIS AND THE SEARCHING FOR TRUE LOVE TOUR is coming
to Portland on May 9. This powerful, one-day event features three
unforgettable messages based on the timeless truth of God's Word.
SESSIONS:LOVE-A heart-piercing message about practicing love as
God defines it-sincere and selfless. PURITY-A practical message on how to
live a lifestyle of purity in an age of compromise. TRUST-An inspiring and
humorous message about placing your hope in God and waiting on His timing
for romance.
The speaker at the conference is 23-year-old Joshua Harris, the
son of well-known homeschool author and speaker Gregg Harris.
Josh is right in the middle of the questions and confusion that often
accompany singleness. He communicates openly and honestly. His
hard-hitting messages are filled with humor, but also reflect his passion
to see his generation serve God with abandon.
In 1996 Josh felt God drawing him to the local church. Last year
he ended his career in publishing "New Attitude," a magazine for
homeschool high school students to pursue pastoral training. He left his
hometown of Portland, OR., to move to Gaithersburg, MD., where he is a
pastoral intern at Covenant Life Church. He is serving the youth pastor
and is being trained by the senior pastor, C.J. Mahaney. He is attending a
pastors' college run by the church.
Last spring Josh's book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" was released by
Multnomah Books. Offering a "new attitude toward romance and relationship"
it challenges Christians to reevaluate society's approach to relationships
in the light of God's Word.
Josh's conferences that have been attended by more than 20,000
people since 1994 are designed for older teenagers and single adults. This
is the perfect event for your church's college or high school group.
Conference organizers encourage parents to come with their teens. And,
because the gospel will be clearly presented, people are encouraged to
invite their unsaved friends. Come ready to be challenged and inspired!
The conference is at Bible Temple in Portland from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. The price is $11 per person and
$8 for groups of twenty or more. For brochures and posters or to register
with VISA or MC call (503) 786-3852.
Eugene's area promoter is Jaime Lyn Rea. If you would like to be

information and material on the conference feel free to call her at (541)
