My name is Laurie and I am considering homeschooling the unschooling
way in the fall of 1997 for my son Alex, 5 and possibly my nephew
David, 10. My daughter Adelin, is three and would continue to attend
our parent coopertive preschool two mornings a week.
I have waited a couple of weeks to respond to this list. I
wanted to observe and begin to form questions in my mind that
hopefully homeschoolers could answer.
I work part-time and financially need to continue. Anyone doing
this? How does it work?
My strenghths are my creativity combined with good
organizational skills and a love of learning. My weakness is
my patience with my kids. Sometimes I am ok and other times I find
myself sending them to their respective rooms or yelling back at
them. My husband Steve said last night that "it would be hard to be
a Mother and Teacher". Feedback anyone?
My last and final question is I want to read something special to my
children before they go to bed each night. I want it to have some
spirituality to it but not particularly Christian based. I also
would like it to contain something that encourages them to reach for
the stars. Anything out there?
I hope to hear from some of you soon, and thank you ahead
for all your invaluable information.
