Just a little info on curriculum fairs, and if I get anything wrong, someone
correct me.
Portland: The Northwest Curriculum Exhibition will be held June 12-13 at
the Memorial Coliseum. They have many vendors selling new curriculum and
giving workshops on how to use their curriculum. They also have a used
curriculum sale. The cost in 1997 was $4/adult, $2/children under 16, plus
$3 for parking.
Eugene: LIGHT's Education Exposition will be held June 6 at the Lane County
Fairgrounds. We will have many vendors, although not as many as Portland's.
We'll also have workshops by vendors. Our used curriculum sale is bigger
than Portland's, and I've been told by many people that we have the best
organization and selection of any used curriculum sale in the Northwest. We
have free admission and free parking.
We're finalizing plans for a Children's History Extravaganza to be
held at the same time and place as our Ed Expo, and I'll be posting info on
this when we have things nailed down. There will be an admission charge for
the children's activities, but we'll keep it as reasonable as we can.
I hope I don't sound too much like I'm tooting our horn, but I would hate
for anyone to think that they have to go to Portland to buy homeschooling
supplies. Especially used curriculum.
