Subject: [ORSIG] Homeschooling Bill on Governor's veto list
The Oregonian published a list of bills that Gov. Kitzhaber intends to veto.
SB 494 was on it. However, his spokesman Bob Applegate said, "I want to
stress that just because it's on the list, it doesn't mean it actually will
be vetoed."
My take on this is that, in publishing this list, the Governor is asking for
more input. Let's give it to him!!!! More phone calls, faxes and letters!
Activate phone trees!
The way SB 494 is described in the list is:
>Senate Bill 494: Affects educational standards for home-schooled children.
>Allows unlicensed teachers to give tests to disabled children.
I know we're all tired of this fight, but if we don't give it this one last
push (how many times have we heard *that* before?) then all our previous
efforts could be for nothing.
