I think people are reacting to several recent events, including too much
junk mail/advertisements, almost no homeschooling-related conversation, the
"random post," and the 8 or 10 unsubscribe messages which were mailed to the
list instead of to majordomo. All of a sudden people were getting lots of
unwanted mail from this list, and it was really frustrating.
I'm hoping we can soon stop reacting, and start sharing in a positive way
about how and why we homeschool. To everyone: I REALLY enjoy hearing
about your families and kids and lives; please post or re-post your
introductions!

I highly suggest that this list is better moderated. I am here because my
wife and I want to homeschool. I have no desire to enter into a counseling
session with some kid who has no idea what he is or isn't at this stage in
life.
If you feel so strongly about Homophobia you answer the ad. I dare you.
I vote for homophobia. Judging from the response to this & other
indications in recent postings, homeschool newsies seem to tolerate spam
fairly well (see the ads) but not the odd Cry For Attention (from a legit
source or a prankster, either way). Now the group will likely be moderated,
much more work for listowner, and filtered to whatever degree by her
philosophies.
Are there any other Observers out there besides me? I'm here because my
brother & his wife are homeschooling in Houston & I thought I might be a
better sister/aunt if I knew something about what they're up to. Pretty
tame group here up to now.

Not to start trouble, but I agree! We live with this sort of thing every day,
like it or not it is the real world. Also, its only *text* on the screen! :-)
That's why God made *delete* keys! :-)
