Hi everybody!
Don't you hate it when you're on a mailing list and nobody says
anything and all you get is junk mail? It could be worse--as list manager
I'm getting 4 or 5 "bounce" messages for each junk mail message you're
receiving!
I'm been really busy lately, and just haven't had time to say much.
I'm working lots of hours handquilting a quilt, and I gave a talk today to a
support group about how we homeschool. Not that I'm an expert, but after
lots of years we just have lots of experience to share. And I have about 5
things to do at the LIGHT meeting tomorrow (in Eugene, Oregon, for those of
you out of the area).
But I'm almost halfway through my quilt and Luke's basketball season
is almost over (two games each weekend just kills the schedule) AND in
another week my sister is going to take all 5 of my kids to give me a week's
vacation and uninterrupted quilting time! Yes, I know she's a wonderful
sister and, no, you can't have her; she's mine.
So things are looking up. And there's only 5 more weeks left in tax
season (my husband's a C.P.A.).
For those of you that remember the red-breasted sapsucker--he's not
frequenting our trees anymore, but we saw him last week on a maple tree the
next block over. He is so tame it is incredible. He perches himself about
3 feet from the ground, so he's really low. But he doesn't fly away even
when kids run by on the sidewalk, just a foot away. And he's a very pretty
bird. Vjera (my 15-year-old bird watcher) walks around the neighborhood
with her binoculars looking for wet tree trunks, which are the sure sign
that he's been pecking away.
For you newcomers on the list, we do occasionally have
conversations. And there usually isn't this much junk mail. AND if you ask
me, I'll send you a collection of the recent introductions that people have
posted to the list. They're kind of long, but interesting....
One more thing: if you post something to the list and get back a
technobabble kind of message saying "User Unknown" or "Returned Mail: Can't
Create Output", it means that majordomo couldn't deliver your post to just
one or two people but it got through to everyone else. I get the same
"bounce" message you do, and after repeated bounces I just "unsubcribe" the
person. So don't worry about it; your post did get through. If you have a
newsreader, all posts to "homes...@efn.org" are also posted to "
eug-education-homeschooling," so you can check there to make sure your post
got posted.
Welcome to all you newcomers, and take care everyone.
