Minutes from last weeks meeting :
The main thing we discussed was how great it would be if we could actually have some defined roles that people could take on to help keep the squirrel running. None of them are massive work, especially if it's with other people helping, but it would be wonderful if people could take them on, They are:
- Website. Someone keeping their eye on the website and making sure it's all running smoothly, the correct info is there etc. Tom is currently happy to do this and has already made a rather lovely orange webpage thing.
- Emails. We need someone to be in charge of emails, checking that everyone who wants to be in the group that the emails bounce around is so, and actually checking the emails themselves. Shouldn't be too much hassle but would be nice to know someone is on it. It would also mean sending out a doodle poll for thursday volunteers but such is very easyand can be taught to the confused...any takers?
- Looking after cupboard in shop. This just generally involves checking stock, making decisions about what we order, checking prices are up to date (and making it look pretty?) Jake and Sephi are happy to take this on.
- Accounting/ordering team. This is the biggest job, being in charge of putting through orders and cashing money and making sure accounts balance etc....Lucy is happy to head this up but would really like a few others helping. Emma and Craig are up for that, but the more the merrier All those interested email back, we can have a mini meeting/induction thingy,,,or txt lucy/ring her on 07890654772
Other jobs involve volunteering on Thursdays, and as there are a few small bits and bobs that don't always get done we're going to link them to certain volunteer slots. So
10 - 12= Check our draw at the back of the shop is tidy and we have order folders/ plastic folders etc. If not, getting hold of them for next week (you will be refunded)
12 - 2= sorting out the order into piles (if there is one)
2 - 4= Recycling!!! It is your job to gather some recycling from the back of the shop to take out with you.
4 - 6= If there needs to be one (ie if we have more than 100 quid) doing the order. Also, make sure our greencity catalogue is up to date. If not add a note into the pending folder for our next order/the current one. Then dispose of the out of date one.The person on for this slot should be one of the accounting team.
So sign on up for the shop. If you have never done it, sign up at the same time as someone else for the first time and they can teach you.
Random small tasks:
Jake to sort out a folder and order forms.
Lucy to check up on the recipe book.
Sephi to rejuvenate propaganda.
Tom- is there any way you could delete the old website/bad catalogue?
Other things to think about-
For the future, thinking about the coop in terms of what we want from it, putting on coop promoting meetings etc. For now we're focusing on getting its basic functions very accessible but it's still important to keep in mind.
Abby mentioned being involved with a veg bag scheme, selling bags of veg from local farms ie outside the library. Hearty to help with this if can.
Membership forms to be scrapped. (what's the point of them? we have a book and an address.)
Think that's everything. Basically the main thing is to get back if you're up for helping with any of the above stuff. cool. sleep well dudes,
squirrels
