Hey Squirrels!

Just a reminder that on Thursday we'll be running the food coop from Solidarity Goods from 10am-6pm on Guthrie street like normal again. Custom was slow last week so pop in and say hello at some point during the day!

If you fancy a go at volunteering why not sign up next to someone who has already put their name down and then (hopefully) they can show you the ropes!
Click the link below to fill in the handy doodle poll which will tell you when the shop needs volunteers.

Also don't forget to come along to the wonderful Fairtrade Cafe tomorrow at 12.30 in the Chaplaincy and then to the Edinburgh University Harvest Festival which is going to be amazing and is happening on Friday afternoon in Potterow - come along for free pies, a foraging trip and lots of food based information and goodies!

love
the hearty squirrel crew!
x

Hey there,

Sorry to spam the list but there is a really exciting community planning meeting happening this Thursday at 5.30 in Pleasance. The idea is to get as many creative and passionate people together to plan an event to shake the big oil corperations. There will be mass action in London on the 16th of October but we want to beat that here in Edinburgh - so join us this Thursday 7th of October - Spread the word!

THE CRUDE AWAKENING

Floods in Pakistan, drought in Russia, huge glaciers breaking up in Greenland...Our climate system is rapidly sliding into crisis, as oil companies destroy people's lives and the environment to keep sucking up their profits.

The failure of at Copenhagen showed us – if there was ever any doubt – that government and industry can’t tackle climate change. It’s up to us and it’s time to up the ante.

Together, with a wide variety of organisations, let's give the oil industry a Crude Awakening and celebrate the solutions emerging in Edinburgh on the 16th October alongside the mass action in London.

We want as many people and organisations to be involved in the planning of the Edinburgh based action so we’re holding an open meeting on

Thursday 7th October
5.30pm - 7:00pm
At 48, Lower Pleasance
This event is completely open to the public - everyone and anyone welcome!

For more information about the planning meeting contact Francesco at evn...@gmail.com
