Hearty Squirrel minutes 15th Nov 2010
- For now, we will try to find a way of keeping HS going, if possible, taking into consideration apparently waning interest and shortage of time of those involved. ‘Service’ (ie. orders etc) is for now suspended.
- All the ‘stuff’ is currently in the Transition office, Forrest Hill.
- The most important aspect of HS to keep going is the deliveries, rather than the shop.
- Transition food group has talked about meeting with EUSA to find Hearty Squirrel a new home. This could be a box room, cupboard or something bigger
- Combining with transition might be able to create something a bit bigger than HS – a food-related group with the food coop as one element.
- Therefore Lucy will set up a meeting with Abby/Rosie from Transition food to see how we can work together. This will be sent round the list and open to anyone who’d like to come.
- For EUSA space we need to be a society again. Esmi will sort this out. For this we need 3 university students to take on the purely superficial roles of ‘president’ ‘secretary’ and ‘treasurer’. Could anyone who is still onboard with HS and is still a student please contact emfr...@hotmail.co.uk so I know who we can use, please.
- Not too sure what’s going on with the mailing list. Tom, or anyone else who knows, could you explain – who is on the list? Does it include all customers?
- Liam – you have the book with the list of members in, right?/ could you type up the email addresses in a list or get the book to Esmi sometime soon please?
- Once this is known Esmi will send an email to all customers / members to explain the situation and ask if they know of space for temporary storage of orders.
- If the Transition / EUSA idea falls through, other options may include
- Joining the Forest if they get a new venue
- Joining Solidarity Goods again if they get a new venue
- Asking Dirty Weekenders if they have any EUSA space not being used?
- Using someone’s flat as a temporary/permanent delivery address (volunteers for this welcome)
