Violet at Still Life With Books was saying on Twitter that the best
way to get started would perhaps be to conduct a survey asking people
if they would attend the con for sure, what the best time of the year
would be for them, where they'd want it to be held, etc. Having an
approximate idea of how many people would attend would make picking a
place a lot easier. And we could all link to/embedded the survey and
thus spread the word effectively.
Anyway, just an idea that I thought whoever the organising team ends
up being could use :)
