Are you referring to the heart like symbols?

Actually BE and BO in baybayin (old filipino scriptures) look the same EXCEPT the lil mark above and below the character.

a quick lesson of baybayin:

If you will be scripting a word example "bebot". the consonant remains the same but when it comes the vowels the lil 'mark' changes... in this case BE will have the mark on TOP of the character and BO will have it UNDER. - therefore it creates BEBOt. :)

There is more to learn as I am still learning..make sense - kinda? :) ttyl
