Hey Adam,

Nope, there's no way to restrict coupons to a single use presently, either in the API or on Etsy proper, and probably not in the near future. It's something we've discussed though, glad to hear it echoed as potentially useful.

One thing we'll hopefully get to you soon, though, is use counts for a coupon in the API. Once we've got that, you should be able to poll and update your coupons as necessary. You could also do this now with the receipts resource and the coupon association upon it, although it would be a bit more onerous.

One thing to note in any case, though, is that you're currently limited to only 100 active coupons. If you're planning on having many "single use" coupons, that won't work.

Hope this helps!

Is there any way to create a coupon code with the etsy api that can only be used once? I looked at the Coupon object and didn't see anything there, but maybe I missed it, or if we can get a notification of sale to our app, we could update the coupon then.

If there is no way to do this, are there any plans to add a single use coupon code feature in the near future?

Hi Chris, any chance you'll remove the 100 active coupon limit? Is that being considered in the near future? Thanks.

Hi Zach,

Not in the near future. I'll take that as a feature request, though, and keep it in mind. Thanks.

Hi Claudio,

Yes: Each shop may have up to 100 active coupons.

Hi Chris,
I have a question for you.

With we have 100 active coupon, you've said. That means that for every shop/user we (as app) can create just 100 active coupons.
I am right?

Thanks

Actually, let me clarify this.

Each shop may have up to 100 coupons. This includes inactive or expired coupons. However, you may fully remove a coupon using deleteCoupon which will give you the slot back.

I hope that's more clear.

Yes it is.
Thanks
