Hi everyone,

We've added an API method that can be used to create purchases on the
sandbox API. This should help you create test data in the sandbox API
to develop against.

http://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/reference/receipt#method_createreceiptonsandbox

Some notes:

* This method will only work when called via http://sandbox.openapi.etsy.com.
* This method requires OAuth. The authenticated user will be the buyer.
* Corresponding Order and Transaction resources are created along with
the new Receipt.
* Multiple listing IDs can be passed, but they must all belong to the
same user ID
* The buyer must have at least one UserAddress record. These aren't
sync'd from prod, so you will need to create one using the API.

Let us know if you have any questions.

best,

Hi,

I've been trying to use this method but keep getting back a response
that says "can't create receipt". Anyone else had success with this
and/or know what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Ian

Yes, I'm having the same issue. I thought it may be because my user
record didn't have a UserAddress (this is mentioned in the
documentation), but I created two addresses for my user and I still
get this error.

Hey guys

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  We've identified a cause and I have a ticket in with the database team to fix it.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
