With OpenCore Legacy Patcher v0.1.7 and newer, we've implemented beta macOS Monterey support for users. Please note that Apple has dropped a lot of hardware with this release as well as broken many of our previous patch sets. This page will be used to inform users regarding current issues and will be updated as new patch sets are developed and added to our patcher.
Due to the display being routed through the NVIDIA Kepler card and macOS being rendered on the Intel iGPU, users have been experiencing issues booting without post-install patches applied (see here for more info (opens new window).) Currently the only workaround is to install the patches in safe mode, by holding down Shift+Enter when you select macOS in the OCLP boot picker.
Currently in macOS 12.0 Beta 4, many Ivy Bridge Macs have experienced Bluetooth issues relating to their BCM20702 chipset. Currently the exact issue is unknown however is assumed to be a bug on Apple's end. Recommend downgrading to macOS 12.0 Beta 3 till resolved:
By default these machines require root volume patches to gain graphics acceleration in Monterey. OpenCore Legacy Patcher supports readding support however SIP can no longer be enabled due to root patching:
Since my r9 280 keeps freezing playing Heaven Bench Mark even with medium setting. I decided to patch my GTX 760, I tried Geforce-Kepler-Patcher but I got kernel panic and I had to reinstalled the OS twice. I tried the Opencore Patcher 4.5 and it worked flawlessly. Now I can use GTX 760 with my Broadwell-E i7-6900k and GA-X99 UD5 without freezing even with high setting on Heaven.
How can you get the post install option enable in open core packager. each time I tried its always disabled. Also The Chris1111 Kepler patcher is not working on Monterey 12.5 RC. Is there any way get over it. Also I am facing a weird issue. Whenever there is power failure and computer restarts for 3 to 4 times. the Monterey OS refuses to reboot I am left in the limbo. I have to reinstall the whole MacOS again from scratch its pain staking.
If you installed macOS Monterey 12.0.1 or later but still use NVIDIA GeForce GTX600/700 series (with an exception of GTX 750Ti which is based on Maxwell), GTX TITAN/GTX TITAN BLACK or Quadro K series, which were previously supported up to macOS Monterey 12.0.1 beta 6, but are not supported in newer betas and final version, you need to follow this guide.
Thankfully our flashed cards can boot macOS even without any drivers support. GeForce Kepler patcher is restoring genuine NVIDIA drivers from Monterey beta into Monterey final bringing back full support for Kepler based NVIDIA cards.
I am using a Macbook Pro 11,3 2014. I have installed opencore with MacOS Montery using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher 1.2.1 on my unsupported Mac. I did this by flashing Monterey to a USB stick with OpenCore legacy patcher, and installed MacOS from USB. Afterwords, I used the "Post-Install Root Patch" button on OpenCore Legacy Patcher on my Mac.
Since the patcher officially supports Big Sur and newer for patching, only those entires will be showen. For ourselves, we'll select 12.1 as that's the latest public release at the time of writing. This will download and install the macOS installer to your applications folder.
MacBookPro11,3 Note: When booting macOS Monterey, you'll need to boot into safe mode if acceleration patches are not installed yet. Otherwise you'll hit a black screen due to missing Nvidia drivers.(opens new window)
Once you've toggled them both off, build your OpenCore EFI once again and install to your desired drive. Now to show the OpenCore selector, you can simply hold down the "ESC" key while clicking on EFI boot, then you can release the "ESC" key when you see the cursor arrow at the top left.
For many users, SIP will be enabled by default on build. For Intel HD 4000 users, you may have noticed that SIP is partially disabled. This is to ensure full compatibility with macOS Monterey and allow seamless booting between it and older OSes. However for users who do not plan to boot Monterey, you can re-enable under Patcher Settings.
Root Patching requires a network connection by default to grab associated resources. If your system is having difficulties with wifi or ethernet, grab the Offline variants of the patcher on Github next to the regular apps:

Note that macOS patchers cannot perform magic and not all Macs will be compatible. Before installing Ventura on an older Mac, make sure that your Mac is compatible with the patcher. You can find a list of all the Macs supported here.
Once you have installed macOS Sonoma (or whatever version of macOS you choose), updates will appear in Software Updates as soon as they are available. However, you should not install these. Instead you need to create a USB stick with the new installation files and install the update in that way.
The procedure for updating to an incompatible Mac to Big Sur is the same as above. This time you can obtain the installation files from this Mac App Store link. Follow our guide linked to above to make a bootable installer.
The update can take several hours. In our case it sometimes looked like the installer had crashed during the update. In this case you should wait, as the installation is usually still in progress. Over time, better ways to update a machine may be found. Currently, the safest approach is to update using a bootable USB stick.
