updates for the meeting just now:

the 20min presentation will break into several parts:
  1. 1min for the intro video about usual ways of transferring petrol
  2. 5mins demonstration after the presentation
  3. approximately 15mins presentation (each person 3mins maximum)
Parts for the intro/ flow for the presentation
  1. intro-Joey (I will introduce everyone and talk about the credibility of our group to talk about this, show video, talk bout siphon principle and the usual ways of transferring petrol and its disadvantages)
  2. methodology- Kok and Safirul. Note that slides will be used when explain about methodology. Safirul pls take note of that yea (Nasih prepare the slides d) (Talk bout how to reverse the valve, how to come out with such a design/function of the parts, etc, sendiri decide what to talk yea)
  3. economical consideration-apih (materials available easily, mild steel from lab, student, generate force without any power input saves lot etc)
  4. Experiment data- Nasih.  (How many strokes recommended, max can pump hw much etc)
  5. Conclusion- Azwan
  6. Before ending the presentation, demonstration:
    • When demo: Nasih will do the pumping job and keluarkan the hose for faster flowrate after pump
    • Pero: Narrate the process and open the valve once Nasih done pumping to allow the water flow out.
By the way, we will put our prototype in flat position. For further reasons, we'll let u know later.

Just in case: (Nth to say or evaluator ask)
  1. shud use galvanised steel instead of mild steel becoz mild steel will rust and the rust will react with petrol in real case
  2. Put a water level indicator so that the water level will not reach the hose where air is removed.
  3. Modified the pump so that it is transparent and easy to see if the petrol is sucked into the pump, Make an outlet at the pump so that those in the pump can flow back into the fuel tank
  4. property of oyr prototype body=2kg
  5. sell the product at market price rm85
  6. if smaller pump is used, more strokes are required
  7. why x use alumium hose? It required power input and need to "sedut", which is hazardous. Also, amount of water transferred is not much, our prototype use mechanical pump which allow more water to be transferred.
  8. the hose we use is suitable for petrol. Can, becoz it is in contact with petrol for a while only. Even a plastic bottle can hold petrol.
