We had the first meeting of the web team today. We talked about the
issues on the tracker regarding the website and some topics which came
up in recent discussions. The main points were

- translation of the website, especially into Spanish for Uruguay,

- expand the FAQ page on Squeakland, make a structure

- entry points for different audience, suggestion is a linked text
like on the sugar labs website

- switch the animated gif with the moving car for a video on the
homepage

- next meeting: two weeks from now on August 24

So I was shocked when I went to the website and commented on a project in spanish and then saw my comment appear in English. I don't know which was more shocking, the fact that it was able to translate or that my spanish was good enough to get an accurate translation!!

I really like this feature and was thinking it would be good for more than just comments.  So the project descriptions could be translated as well. (perhaps with the original text in its original language as well).

Also we should consider moving this discussion to the squeakland list so more folks can see what is going on, comment and provide input.

It would be nice if when you publish a project it was posted to a Wiki page, that you could edit.
This would allow us to create much better content describing the projects including videos, links to lesson plans etc.
