Hi everyone,

Here's the "Website and Showcase" filter in the Squeakland tracker:

http://tracker.immuexa.com/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?requestId=10610

Note that priority column on the left.   That determines the order I look at things.

Might be good to scan the list for today's meeting.

Tim,

it is nice to see you working hard!  Thank you.

The list you suggested we look before today's meeting is great but,  it is too much for me.

I am trying to stay in touch with users in Uruguay,  the largest deployment so far.

My intelligence and the time i have available have limitations.

If I get too involved in finding out how new things work,  I have to neglect the 67 uruguayan squeakers,  who put their names in Squeakland.org.

Uruguay is now in the #2 position.

Thanks to all of you who have contributed so much creating and maintaining this interesting teaching tool and concept.

I hope you all agree that feedback is a very important base to support all the work being done.

I see lots of enthusiasm around,  which is very positive but also has the danger of leading many of us to forget the main puprpose we are all contributing to this fantastic community.

The reason I believe,  and please correct me if I am wrong,  is to help children, teachers, relatives, volunteers and friends to take the most advantage from what Squeakland and its predecessors have done and are doing.

This is a list of points I quickly put together in response to Rita's request of a few days ago and Tim's list and message of today,  asking for suggestions to improve Squeakland.org:

1) When we decide to save or publish a project and click the icon with the arrow pointing to the folder,  the title of the window that opens is "Publish this project".

This scares some users who are not yet aware that neither of the two options offered,  "My Squeakland" and "Etoys",  will show the project to the public.

2) The message thanking for uploading a project is always in English.

It has been a point where problems originate because they cannot read it.

Something I am not sure I understand,  in this message:  "… you or anyone in your group,  may see it."

How is "my group" established?

By all those in the group using the same user name and password?

3) The squeakers list is a great promotional tool for Etoys.

Would it be possible to make it easier to quickly review all the comments,  and maybe search for a name?

I was thinking of something like a long single page to be searched from the browser?

4) Add links to some places showing how Etoys is used in the classroom.

Example:

5) Forums:  Should we keep promoting the forums?

6) Etoys fails to quit.

Not important,  just a bit upsetting.

Seems to be due to the fact it asks for a confirmation that you really want to quit.

7)  The manual we discussed some time ago I believe would be a great help to most users,  particularly to teachers in Uruguay.

My offer to translate to Spanish is still on but I will need some brief instructions on what,  when and how to do it.

8) I used to enjoy reading news about Squeakland but now they don't seem to be up to date.

Are we going to learn about the recent Squeakfest in Wilmington?

Talk to all of you in a few minutes.

Thanks for choosing one of our projects for the Wow of the Week.

However the link received with the message to see the project is not
working.

This morning I have been working on a document offering links to many
projects and none of the links is working.

I just reported the problem in the tracker.

Thanks for whatever you could do.

Carlos
