JEE MAIN 2016:Joint Entrance examination
is a common engineering entrance examination which is conducted for the
admission of various undergraduate engineering courses across the
country. Top most institutes like
NIT's,
IIT's and other centrally funded
technical institutions
are the main participants of this exam. Thus, students who secure
highest scores in this exam are given admission in any of such
top most institutes of India.
This is two stage exam in which
JEE Main is the first stage and
JEE Advanced is the second stage of the exam. Students who clear JEE Main exam are only eligible to attend JEE Advanced exam.
The official
announcement of JEE Main 2016 has been released by the
Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE).
Online registration of the examination is going to be started on
December 1, 2015. Thus, students who wish to apply for this exam can apply between
December 1 and December 31st 2015.
About the exam:1.
JEE Main 2016 examination shall be conducted in two modes such as
online and
offline mode. (Computer based test or paper/pen based test respectively)
2. Similarly, they have two papers such as
Paper-1 and
Paper-2.
Paper-1 is for students who are seeking admission in B.E/B.Tech
programs whereas Paper-2 is for the students who seek admission in the
programs like B.Arch/B.Planning.
3. The
online mode of examination is said to be conducted on
April 9th and
April 10th 2016 for Paper-1 (BE/B.Tech).
4. The
offline mode of examination is said to be conducted on
April 3rd, 2016 for both
Paper-1(B.E/B.Tech) and
Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning).
5. The duration of the exam is 3 hours for both the papers.
Eligibility criteria:1. The applicant must have born on or after
October 1, 1991 for general candidates and on or after
October 1, 1986 for SC/ST candidates.
2. The applicant must have completed his higher secondary education in the academic year of 2014 or 2015.

4. Please ensure that they meet all the
eligibility criteria before applying for the examination.
5. Now
download the application form and fill in all the necessary details clearly and correctly.

Fill all the details such as contact number, contact address, active
mail id, full name, choice of examination centre, choice of paper very
clearly.
7. Pay the application fee as below:
Pen and Paper based exam:JEE Main Paper-1 or Paper-2 Fee: Rs.1000/- for boys and Rs.500 for Girls (General category)
Rs. 500/- for both boys and girls (SC/ST candidates)
JEE Main Paper-1 and Paper-2 fee:Rs.1800/- for boys and Rs.900 for Girls (General category)
Rs. 900/- for both boys and girls (SC/ST candidates)
Computer based exam:JEE Main Paper-1 or Paper-2 Fee: Rs.500/- for boys and Rs.250 for Girls (General category)
Rs. 250/- for both boys and girls (SC/ST candidates)
JEE Main Paper-1 and Paper-2 fee:Rs.1300/- for boys and Rs.650 for Girls (General category)
Rs. 650/- for both boys and girls (SC/ST candidates)
8. Please upload your scanned copy of
photograph,
digital signature and
left hand thumb impression in the prescribed format.
9.
Pay the application fee either through
net banking or through
demand draft.
10. Click on
submit button. The application form will be successfully submitted and a
unique application number will be generated. Please make a note of it.
11. Now take a print out of the computer generated
acknowledgement slip for your reference. Keep this safely since it may be required later.
12. Please note that the entire process is online and applicants do not send any application form to the JEE Main secretariat.
