El undécimo CONGRESO DE IDIOMAS INDÍGENAS DE LATINOAMÉRICA se llevará a cabo el 15-17 de octubre del 2026 en la Universidad de Texas en Austin de manera virtual. Este año, la conferencia se dedica a celebrar el 25º aniversario del lanzamiento de AILLA, el Archivo de los Idiomas Indígenas de Latinoamérica.
Se invitan resúmenes/abstractos sobre investigaciones de cualquier tema acerca de idiomas indígenas. En honor al 25º aniversario de AILLA, estamos particularmente interesados en resúmenes que se centren en los esfuerzos colaborativos para archivar los resultados de la documentación de lenguas y actividades relacionadas (como (re)vitalización, enseñanza y activismo), así como en formas interesantes y significativas en que los materiales archivados han sido (re)circulados, resocializados y se han utilizados dentro de sus comunidades de origen. Los temas pueden incluir, pero no se limitan a:

Mantenimiento o Pérdida Lingüística Discurso

Se prefiere castellano para las presentaciones; también se aceptan inglés y portugués.

Las ponencias son de 20 minutos con 10 minutos para preguntas y comentarios. Se seleccionarán con base en una evaluación anónima del resumen/abstracto, el cual no debe exceder 500 palabras (excluyendo referencias). No se acepta más que una ponencia como autor principal.

The eleventh CONFERENCE ON INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES OF LATIN AMERICA will be held online on October 15-17, 2026, by the University of Texas at Austin. This year, the conference is dedicated to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the launch of AILLA, the Archive of the Indigenous Languages of Latin America.
We invite the submission of abstracts on research about any aspect of Latin American Indigenous languages. In honor of AILLA’s 25th anniversary, we are particularly interested in abstracts that focus on the collaborative efforts to archive the results of language documentation and related activities (such as (re-)vitalization, teaching, and advocacy), as well as interesting and meaningful ways that archived materials have been (re-)circulated, resocialized, and used within their originating communities. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
Grammar Typology
Linguistic Anthropology Sociolinguistics
Language Planning Language Politics
Linguistic Theory Historical Linguistics
Language Vitality Discourse
Indigenous Literatures Cooperation with the Community
Spanish is encouraged for presentations; English and Portuguese are also acceptable.

Speakers are allowed 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. Papers will be selected based on the evaluation of an anonymous abstract, which may not exceed 500 words (excluding references). We cannot accept more than one paper as principal author.
