Skills Required and Job Description:

MOI : Telephonic followed by Face-to-Face Storage Engineer: The role requires the candidate to have a proven track record of supporting of Netapp Storage Area Network (SAN) systems at multiple locations. Experience in automation using power Shell Scripting, Networking and NetBackup is a significant plus. This position is initially for a 6 month contract with scope for an effective candidate to move into a permanent position. Responsibilities: Assistant in manage and maintain daily operational integrity of the Netapp Storage Area Network systems. Migration of storage from 7-mode to C-DOT mode. Manage and maintain the operation of the backup system which is based on Symantec NetBackup and Netapp data protection suites. Assist to develop innovative and automated procedures and processes to enhance SAN and backup operations through programming and/or scripting and Netapp supporting tools. Respond to incidents and alerts. Provide out of hours technical support when required. Participate in the planning, development, and delivery of projects and evaluate new storage technology. Provision of new and updated documentation and knowledge articles. Requirements: At least 4 years of Netapp SAN operation and management in 7-mode. Experience in C-DOT mode is a big plus. At least one year of NetBackup administration and operation Experience of administration in VMWare virtualized environments. Awareness of the ITIL framework and principals. Experience of security standards, best practices and networking fundamentals. Excellent teamwork and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to handle and lead multiple tasks. Strong time management skills and the ability to balance high quality work standards against time constraints. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Bachelor’s degree or diploma with strong academic credentials. OnTap experience is required.
