Perhance is a platform that allows you to create your own custom random generators. You could use it to create your own random text generator for a tabletop RPG, or to make your own random name generator, or to simply create a generator which selects a random item from your list with different weights. You can also save your generator so it has a permalink that you can share with your friends.
Perchance is based around creating lists which reference other lists. You can adjust the odds of items in each list so that when you randomly select an item from that list, they all have the likelihoods that you've specified. If you'd like to learn how to make a random text generator with Perchance, you should check out the tutorial. It explains all the basic features of the Perchance engine and should get you up and running in only 10 or 20 minutes. Perchance has many powerful features that you don't need to learn from the start, but can learn later if you want to create particularly complex generators.
I created Perchance because most people are still creating random generators in excel. Those work all right, but excel and other spreadsheets aren't really made for that purpose, so there's a lot to be desired in terms of functionality and ease of use. Whatever you're using it for, I hope you find Perchance useful! You might like to check out our community forum where you can ask questions and share your random generator creations.
If you see this message, this page failed to load properly. One potential cause is that (as of writing) some ad blockers break basic1 functionality of Perchance pages. This includes pages that don't have any ads - i.e. even "normal" (non-AI-powered) generators.
Masterpiece Generator refers to a set of text generator tools created by Aardgo. The tools are designed to be cool and entertain, but also help aspiring writers create a range of different media, including plots, lyrics for songs, poems, letters and names. Some generated content parodies existing styles and artists, whilst others are based on original structures.
These passwords were all generated back to back with minimum number and special set to 3 and avoiding ambiguous characters. I find it odd that so many passwords can be generated and the overwhelming majority of them always have a duplicate character.
It ist very random, if no one can predict how many times a character appears in a password. So I agree with PossibleGhost: it would be less secure, if there would be a (possibly detectable/analysable) rule, to only use every character once.
Since there may not be enough users needing this particular option for their password generation, a potential variation would be allowing the user to configure/input a snippet of code (javascript function, or whatever is most amenable to consumption by bitwarden) that would return whether the generated password is acceptable. Then bitwarden can generate passwords (up to some likely sane limit, maybe like 1k or 10k?) and pass them into the function to see if it was acceptable.
Hey so me and my friends got really into don't starve together character modding and wanted something to help us quickly generate the portrait names so I threw together this website real quick and I think some other people MAY find it helpful.
- I'm thinking about adding options to allow squishing the text closer together and also shaking the characters up n down to get a more natural DST look. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in and I can try to fast track working on it.
This is amazing!! This should be a program that one can download! Please make this a downloadable program! As feedback, the background and "golden colour" doesnt look as like offical "names" from Klei. Maybe change that to look more like offical colours and "style"?
Also THIS:"

Hello Everyone,
Was wondering if anyone else is having any Issues with the Character creater app? Went to try to use it and it says that it is no longer available. Is there a new site? Was going to use it to make some characters at a local con coming up in January.
Thank you so much! I would love to see them there. I use the online generator to make important npcs and I know a lot of players use it too. Thank you so much for all the hard work that you put into it!
Hi, I am leading the development of a new character generator. I finished the feasibility study and the features are discussed on the mutant chronicles discord. There is not so much code at the moment since I am quite busy atm but normally I will start coding it during Christmas holidays.
If you are interested I can share the GitHub link to the repository.
The new one is going to be written in Python and do most things on the server side rather than in the browser.
We (as in the rest of the community and I) are also planning an off line version but that will come after the online one.
Feel free to contact my or join our discord if you gave any questions.
I put together the Cradle of Heroes. LMK if you have any questions. @lordabdul - Do we know who did the family history generator? That is awesome and something I stayed away from due to the amount of work needed. Would be great to have an API connection.
It's php. If there's a way you can use it, please do. It's a work in process though, so will continue to develop. On the to-do-list are random homelands and occupations, both either straight 1D20 rolls or statistical outcomes la RQ3, among other things.
Ten minutes of voice journaling always brings happy surprises. I may continue to add to this journal from time to time during my writing or planning, fleshing out more of my character if I see the need.
We know that Luke Skywalker, like most farm boys, yearns for a life of adventure. He looks out at the sky, dreaming of becoming a Jedi. But the practicalities of life with his Aunt and Uncle prevent it.
The vision is not always a pleasant one. Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games sees no hope in the future. Her vision is for survival in the daily, dismal world of Panem. Her daily life is taken up with the care of her mother and sister. She tells her friend Gale she never wants to have kids. Will anything in the story change her outlook?
Thanks again! Now I will add the voice journalling to my repertoire. I already use the day journal that you suggested before and love it. Since I am still in the early chapters of my sequel, I will go back and do a voice journal in Scrivener to go with the images I had already picked out (love Scrivener for getting me organized!) I had been thinking that maybe my voices (I have three protags) were not distinct enough. I am feeling excited to do this, now!
For my prosaic bad guys, I return often to the Florida Department of Corrections website. You can type in certain traits: race, age, crime committed, and the rogues gallery of mugshots comes up in all their orange jumpsuited glory. It never fails to inspire me.
Use these characters as a starting point for your own development, or for extra fun, use them as they are! Once you have your new star, set them on their literary journey with the Plot Device Generator!

You can work them out yourself on graph paper, but I found this little Windows program to be very helpful both for generating the data bytes for custom LCD characters, and for giving you a preview of what the character will look like at its real size:
You can now make a table lookup with a random number between 1 and 99 and you will get back a number between 65 and 90. You can fill this number in the character formula and get a random character as you needed.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I am having? Im trying to make a simple random name generator (for temporary names for files, etc.) and then, do other things like mouse move and run, I found one but it didn't work, if anyone could show me a way to right one that would make, several characters randomly type that would be really helpful thanks!
Hey All. I've been working for the last week or so on a character builder in Google Sheets. I figured this would be the easiest to keep updated with new versions without having to share out a new file each time. I should stipulate that this sheet is very much a work in progress. All of the basic functionality I wanted to get into it is working, but there are things that I just have not figure out how to do yet, or have not implemented yet. That said here is what I have in the sheet so far:
