Rethinking Elementary Education and LGBTQ teaching

Hope you are well. Can I get your help spreading the word about two Rethinking Schools projects?
First, we are looking for folks who are teaching LGBTQ curriculum who are interested in writing about it for a new RS book (and publication in the magazine as well). We are particularly interested in work that moves beyond creating a safe learning environment to content knowledge. If you are interested or know anyone who might be, please check out the attached call for submissions and contact me.
Second, a couple of SF teachers who have articles in our new book Rethinking Elementary Education are doing at book reading at Sanchez Elementary School next Friday afternoon, Dec. 7. We will be focusing on evaluating picture books about immigration for the politics they project, and LGBTQ resources for k-8. That info is on the Rethinking Happy Hour pdf, also attached.
