I spent a few hours today on getting a fork of the Etherpad open-
source release running on PostgreSQL 8. It hasn't been fully tested,
but I can at least create pads, collaborate, and otherwise play
around. It's very, very beta at this point -- hot off the press -- but
I welcome anyone who is interested to try it out.

Comments and critiques are welcome; my time is limited over the next
few weeks due to the holidays, but I'm interested in seeing a fork
that is fully functional and alive on Postgres.
My heartfelt thanks go out to the Etherpad / AppJet team; Etherpad has
streamlined our collaboration processes immensely at our company, and
many days I feel like it is our primary communication tool. Thanks for
creating such an unobtrusive but powerful tool!

Postgres is a good idea, will take a look at it soon.
