Hey,
is anyone interested in getting a new group together for the winter to start dnding again?

I was thinking it could be nice to use a different ruleset than D&D to make thing a little more simple. It seems like Microlite20 is a good option...

the Microlite20 ruleset is based on the d20 rules that we all used before, but is MUCH MUCH MUCH simpler (and more focused on the role playing aspects and less on the long combats). The core book, (which includes the players handbook, DM book, and Monsters manual) is around 17 pages. The rules are based off of the OGL / D20 system (read: D&D 3.5) but totally stripped down to facilitate fast and open gameplay.

in the retro roleplaying site below,You can download all of the rules and supplements for free, you can see that there is also infinite expandability and its all free and oepnsource.

I have also attached the core rules PDF here if anyone is interested in having a look.

I do still have a campaign that I'd be interested in running, but I also would like to play more, I know some of you (matt, lindsay...) are interested in DMing too, so maybe that could work out too?!

let me know what you think!

b.

Nodzh returned from his quest.

And promptly died. But that's... o... k...

The lived meaning of his life is neither enhanced nor diminished by his mortality.

And he was unreliable anyway.

So I'll roll another character under the new rules.

Thanks, Ben.

Wohoo!
I'm in too, but since I'll be abroad for the Spring time ( March- May) I probably shouldn't entirely take on the DM roll. We could switch off or something... same story line, but we alternate leading?

I'm so jealous. No one in Korea will scratch my RPG itch. Maybe I could be a remote player? Possible DMs should check out this site for international role playing.

it would be great to have a disembodied, or invisible, or trapped-inside-a-looking-glass character in the mix. Or even a god of sorts.

if you can make the time zone shift work, then why not skype it in?

yeah, we can skype you in, but the time difference might be prohibitive.
something to think about when organizing meetings.

I love the idea of a dual matt / lindsay DM role, you guys could flesh out an overarching story and then let it rip!

I was also thinking we could have the DM build in a mercenary hire location or something / someway we could get players in that are not in the 'core' group. I think this could work since the rules are so much more simplified. That way kate, sara f., or others could drop in for a session here and there and it would be fine since they are technically 'hired guns'!
