Hello,

I was wondering if Ether works with Debian 6.0

Please advise.

Ether has only been tested with Debian 5.0. If it works with 6.0
though do let the list know, I'm sure other people are also
interested.

Greetings...

I have been trying to run Ether on Debian Squeeze for some time. After
some research, I have been able to compile Xen 3.1.0 and apply the
Ether patch on that system.
But when I boot on kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64, I am not able to load
module xen-evtchn. The error message is the following:
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.32-5-xen-amd64/kernel/drivers/xen/xen-
evtchn.ko
FATAL: Error inserting xen_evtchn (/lib/modules/2.6.32-5-xen-amd64/
kernel/drivers/xen/xen-evtchn.ko): No such device
If someone is interested in knowing more, feel free to e-mail me.

Kil Park.

Do things work without the module, or is that module necessary for operation?

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, xend can not be loaded without this module.
Maybe I was not too clear on my first message, I apologize for that.
So no, I was not able to use ether on squeeze yet, but I am still
trying.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
I will keep the list informed of my progress on that.
