A tarball of the Thunderbird 2 source code is available for download. The latest development code can be obtained by cvs. Thunderbird-specific source is in "mozilla/mail", "mozilla/mailnews", "mozilla/toolkit", and "mozilla/chrome". Please follow the build instructions.

The easiest way to find your profile is to click on the "Show Folder" button in Help -> Troubleshooting Information. That launches windows explorer (or the equivalent file manager for your operating system) with the profile folder selected. That feature was added in Thunderbird 5.0.
AccProbe successfully returns IA2 information for both applications. The MS documentation for QueryService doesn't list E_INVALIDARG as a possible return value. However browsing for the mozilla source it appears that it returns this if the first parameter (service ID) is unexpected, and otherwise calls through to QueryInterface (which would return E_NOINTERFACE for a bad interface ID). So... that implies the first parameter to QueryService is wrong; but I've tried pretty much every value I think mozilla expects with no difference.
This guide also assumes your copy of Thunderbird is at least close to being up-to-date. Any copies that have not been updated for a number of years might not have an "OAUTH2" setting available in the windows below. Also some slightly older versions of Thunderbird might have slightly different setup windows. Version 78 or later of Thunderbird is required.
When its commercial development was halted, users started to complain about multiple software glitches and a lack of regular product updates. On July 7 a security vulnerability affecting browsers for theWindows operating system was reported to mozilla.org by Keith McCanless, and was subsequentlyposted to Full Disclosure, a public securitymailing list. On the same day, the Mozilla security team confirmed the reportof this security issue affecting the Mozilla Application Suite, Firefox, andThunderbird and discussed and developed the fix at Bugzilla bug 250180. We haveconfirmed that the bug affects only users of Microsoft's Windows operatingsystem. The issue does not affect Linux or Macintosh users.
If you're using a Peyton Hall Linux system, Thunderbird is maintained on our central NFS share and can be launched by loading the Thunderbird module with module load thunderbird if it's not already loaded, then typing thunderbird at the command-line while in an X Windows session. If, however, you want to install it on a stand-alone machine such as a laptop or Windows desktop, the latest version can be found at -US/thunderbird/.
