Just tried to add newsgroups, but it seems like there are (almost) none?

In thunderbird, right click on the news.eternal.september.org and select
"Settings". Left click on "Server Settings" for news.eternal.september.org.
Ensure "always request authentication..." is selected.
Close the Account settings tab.
Right click on the news.eternal.september.org again, and select "Subscribe".
Left click on the Refresh button.
