Unless perhaps we are counting "testes" not "testing", like Beavis and

Fail on two counts: testing in a non-test group and top posting.

Use eternal-september.test (or any other *.test group) for testing.
Testing in a live group is the mark of a newbie, as is top-posting.

Otherwise, welcome to Usenet. Be sure to always wear your

Well, thank you. I've been on USENet since the early 90's, and sorry
for the top posting. I forget which groups I'm in, sometimes. A few I
frequent specify top posts. Must be Google admins.

And, I don't bother with asbastos. Ihave a full Nomex suit, so we're
good.

Sorry for testing your patience; thought this was the test
group. It has been quite a few years since I used Usenet,
and was reminded of this server via a recent mention in The
Register.

My experience precedes Usenet, starting with working with
the Remington Rand 1103A mainframe in the late 1950s. So I
guess one can recycle into Newby land by aging sufficiently
(or aging out sufficiently).

AFAIAC it isn't a big problem, although this conversation would be
better placed in e-s.newusers or e-s.talk, so as to leave this group
clear for its purpose.

As it happens I predate Usenet too, but not by as much as you do.
